Women Empowering Women

Mentoring Program

The YWCA has served as home to women and children in need throughout the 20th Century. The YWCA’s Transitional Living Program serves single women, women with children and women with physical disabilities of all ages. Many of these women need a good role model in their lives. The YWCA is looking to enhance these women’s lives by offering them support through a mentoring program. The purpose of a mentoring program is to encourage professional and personal development in someone’s life. A mentor is not a babysitter, psychologist or a savior. Mentors are ordinary people who enjoy helping others. Mentors are role-models and caring friends who want to see someone else succeed in life.

The YWCA is currently looking for professional, caring women to volunteer time to become a mentor for the women in the Transitional Living Program. If interested or would like more information on the mentoring program please contact Sheila Barnhart at the YWCA.
